Best Laid Plans

The mane-like hair style in the picture was not intended to be worn outside of my workout this week. Little did I know that this hair needed to live with me the entire day. Guess what?! I got more compliments on this hair do, than ever before. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not out there looking for that, but what I did observe is this; sometimes in life things don’t go as planned, don’t let it get you down or let it take your joy; embrace the shift and look for the positive in the new path. It is there, you just need to look for it.

As humans, we plan, schedule and organize till our hearts explode. We hang every minute of every day based on what is on the calendar. So many people struggle to cope appropriately when something gets unexpectedly interjected into that calendar. Hands get thrown into the air and an exasperated expression of emotion gets launched into the world, day’s get abolished.

Well, just for a second if we could just breathe, take a step back, and say “Hey is this really going to ruin my entire life, or is it simply a pivot I will need to make?” Yes, we put so much effort into the planning, but guess what friends….plans change, life happens, shit goes haywire. Why not take the extra moment to recognize your reaction and place your awareness on how the new path will serve you instead of steal from you. “Keep your day” is a saying I learned this year in some trainings I have been a part of. Don’t let something or someone steal your joy, happiness, or smile. Take a moment, breathe, and shift your outlook to be in your favor.

Pivot people,

KK
